# Engines

> See which crew role your AI is asking for help, what it is doing right now, and everything it has said.

Rasu AI's engines are a film crew your own AI can ask for craft knowledge. They never write to your project; your AI reads what they say and decides. Open **Engines** in the sidebar to watch the crew on a live set, with one card per role underneath. Press a card's arrow to open that role's full log.

## Director

The crew member who knows why each shot exists, how it is staged and where the camera goes. Your AI asks the Director before it writes a shot.

1. Open **Engines**.
2. Find the **Director** card. Its state reads receiving, thinking or replying while it works, and nothing when it is idle.
3. Read who is at the role and what they asked, with the Director's replies under each.
4. Press the arrow in the card's corner to open the Director's log. Switch between **Team** and **Mine** to see everyone's calls or only yours.

* **Covers**: shots, coverage and blocking.
* **People at it**: each person or app asking it something, with their latest exchange.

**For agents**

- `engine (type: engine_consult)` — fields: `role`, `concept`, `id`
- `engine (type: engine_check)` — fields: `role`, `concept`, `id`

## Cinematographer

The crew member who keeps the look steady: style, format, light and how things move. Your AI asks the Cinematographer so every shot looks like the same film.

1. Open **Engines** and find the **Cinematographer** card.
2. Read its state and who is asking it something.
3. Press the arrow to open its log.

* **Covers**: the look, meaning style, format, light and physics.
* **People at it**: each person or app asking it something, with their latest exchange.

**For agents**

- `engine (type: engine_check)` — fields: `role`, `concept`, `id`

## Script Supervisor

The crew member who tracks what state everything is in from one shot to the next, so a cut on a hand or a torn sleeve stays that way.

1. Open **Engines** and find the **Script Supervisor** card.
2. Read its state and who is asking it something.
3. Press the arrow to open its log.

* **Covers**: the state everything is in from shot to shot.

The crew member who knows how to describe a character, place or prop so it looks the same every time: its identity, build, materials and variations.

1. Open **Engines** and find the **Casting** card.
2. Read its state and who is asking it something.
3. Press the arrow to open its log.

* **Covers**: an asset's identity, anatomy, materials and variations.
* **People at it**: each person or app asking it something, with their latest exchange.

## World Architect

The crew member who knows who a character is to the others: the bonds between them and what each wants from the other at each point in the story.

1. Open **Engines** and find the **World Architect** card.
2. Read its state and who is asking it something.
3. Press the arrow to open its log.

* **Covers**: a character's relationships, meaning the bonds between your characters and how each treats the other at each sequence.
* **People at it**: each person or app asking it something, with their latest exchange.

Someone connected who has not asked any role yet is listed above the cards as waiting at video village.

**For agents**

- `engine (type: engine_consult)` — fields: `role`, `concept`, `id`, `focus`
